Madrid. How I missed you. It’s hot, loud, and cramped, but there’s that anticipation of a coming Camino that always gets me right here. My train leaves in two hours, Pamplona here I come.
It's HOT. Please remember to take water with you (use Camino Now to find the nearest fountain), walk slower, and use any shade offered. It's not a race, and it's doubly not a race if it's between an hour later at your destination and hurting yourself. Be safe out there.
Quick Survey Walk on the Francés
I know, that there are many missing parts to the other routes, but for this year, we want to get the Francés to be "self contained," meaning that it can support itself mostly through pilgrim and hospitaler@ updates and does not need status walks (other than annual visits) anymore. So I am heading to Pamplona this week, to fill in missing areas (La Rioja, for example).
