Information We Collect
Crash reports
Apple and Google may collect anonymous crash reports if the app crashes, which helps us improve stability. You can disable this in your device settings and are asked if you want to send them every time this happens.
Your Trail Name and Review/Feedback Content
If you comment on or rate a town, albergue, or POI, we store those comments on our servers. They are not linked to you, and your trail name can be changed at any time. We store an "anonymous ID" with your comments, which is generated on your app, and can be regenerated at any time. This is, so you can ask for deletion of your content, should you wish to do so. We can not associate your comments with your identity.
Information We DO NOT Collect
Location data
Only on your app, stays with you. We can't and won't know where you are, and neither do we transmit that data to others.
Personal information
We do not collect or store any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number, device identifiers, or any other information that could be used to identify you.
How We Use Your Information
- Tag your Trail Name onto things you submit, such as potability changes for fountains or comments on towns, POI, and accommodations
Data Storage and Security
Your privacy is important to us:
- Location data is processed locally on your device
- When you download the device database, you do so anonymously.
- No personal location history is stored on our servers
- All data transmission is encrypted using SSL
Third-Party Services
Camino Now uses the following third-party services (none of which are tied to you, your identity, or your device):
- OpenStreetMap: For map data.
Your Rights
- Disable location services at any time through your device settings. This will render the app somewhat useless, but you can browse.
- Request information about data we may have collected
- Request deletion of any personal data
- Contact us with privacy-related questions or concerns. Request deletion of your account and all associated data or a copy of your data from privacy@camino.now
Your Rights as a Hospitaler@
- We value your hard work and dedication as a hospitaler@. This is why we won't bother you much over the year. We will attempt to visit you in person to update the information about your albergue, and in rare cases where this was not possible, email you. To opt out of receiving emails, please tell us at the email albergue@camino.now
- You have the right to demand the removal of comments in cases where they are slanderous or false. Please understand, that we take these matters seriously and will investigate any claims made, but also want to operate an open exchange in which pilgrims feel safe and justified to report their concerns honestly.
- At all times you may edit your pricing and feature display for the app by visiting the alberge URL we provided to you in person or email. If you lost your ID, contact us at albergue@camino.now.
- At any time you can contact us at albergue@camino.now to request deletion of your albergue. We will ensure it won't be readded by pilgrims until you tell us so.
